Kawasan Falls, Barangay Matutinao Badian Cebu

I chose to visit Kawasan Falls as the last stop for our Cebu trip 2015, as a traveler (a neophyte traveler) I'm not the type who would simply just visit a place just for the sake of visiting it I always get hold of the time and savor the moment of my stay whatever the situation is, so in this case I only visited couple of famous places in the province. We conquered Cebu like an ephemeral mayfly, four days weren't really enough to cover all the heavenly places and landmarks of Cebu, we missed the  beaches from the north and other famous water falls but what we had were enough to suffice our four days in the Province.

Kawasan Falls is one of the famous attractions in the southern part of Cebu with a pristine clear turquoise water that cascade in three stages, a great attraction situated in the vast Forest of Barangay Matutinao. From the highway it took us 15 to 20 minutes to reach the main falls, it was an easy trek so it really is a tourist friendly yet extremes are hiding in it. Kawasan Falls is also a well-known destination for extreme adventure that beguile the true blue adventure seekers and make their Cebu evasion a real kick ass, you should include canyoneering on your list of activities when you visit the place.

How to get there:

- From Mactac Airport ride a cab going to South bus terminal Station, there are several buses heading to Bato via Barili (preferrably Ceres Bus), approximately 3hr travel time.

- Bus- around 120 php
- Entrance fee-10 php
- Food- 100 is enough
- Bamboo float/Raft- 300

Please confirm with the raft facilitator if the guide who'll maneuver the raft requires a pay, in my experience they didn't even bother giving us a heads up on the charges upon renting it, we were caught off guard when they charged us for the service that should really be included on the package, imagine we rented a raft for 300 then we also paid for the guy who guided and maneuvered it, I mean do I have an option to drive it myself? Well, we can give a tip, it's not hard to be generous. Nevertheless, our experience in Kawasan Falls was still a thumbs up.
